1. Rock Garden: The place is also known as Silathoranam, which is Telugu Language means as a rock (Sila) and arch (Thoranam). The place is a natural stone formation in the shape of an arch. It is a Pre-Cambrian natural formation. Many believe that it is over this arch that Lord Venkateswara walked while he was on his way to Tirumala from Vaikunt. It is a protected monument and tourists visit in large numbers to see this natural formation. Silathoranam is at a distance of only 1 km from the famous Tirupathi Temple. With a height of 3 meter and width of 8 meter, it presents a captivating view.
2. Talakona Waterfalls: Located at a distance of 49 km, Talakona Waterfalls is one of the highest waterfalls in the country. With white streams of water falling from a height of 270 feet, Talakona waterfalls present a breathtaking view amid serene natural surroundings. The word Talakona, means head-hill. It is derived from Telugu word, Tala means head while Kona means hill, signifying the ‘head of Seshachalam hills’.
3. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam: Garden is located in the center of Tirumala city. A popular place for sightseeing in Tirupati, TTD Gardens present visitors with mesmerising landscapes, a wide variety of flowers and a refreshing environment. TTD Gardens provide flowers for all the temples in Tirupati and Tirumala. These gardens are from where flowers are taken for the holy purpose of temples. From garlands for ornamenting the deities to flowers for beautifying temples’ mandapam, pandals, and festive decoration, TTD flower Garden produces flowers for every purpose. Boasting of more than 200 varieties of plants, TTD Garden was established by Sri Ramanuja and his disciple Sri Andalwar in the 14th century.
4. Horsley Hills: Located between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka border, Horsley Hills refers to a hill station that is perfect for exploring the beauty of the hills. Often called the Ooty of Andhra, this natural beauty is situated at a height of 4312 metres and is well-known for its landscapes. It is home to the largest Banyan tree and the oldest Eucalyptus Tree. The landscape of Horsley Hills also doubles up as a destination for adventure sports and activities such as trampoline, shooting, bow and arrow, wall climbing, water walking, rappelling, swimming pool, fish spa, and a mini zoo.
How to reach Tirupati: There are direct flights to Tirupati and the place is well connected to other major cities of the country via regular trains. You can also take a bus from Bangalore.
