Immense Artists collective on Sunday organised an event ‘Open Mic 3.0’ based on theme travel. The event, held in Odean Social in Connaught place in New Delhi, is aimed to bring young talents under one roof. It is a platform where artists from different genre come together and tell their share of stories through different mediums.
Artists including college going student, corporate genius, bloggers, mothers all were here to perform and to tell their journey. A journey which was reflecting their day to day life, struggles, happiness, sorrow.
A female comic, Akhilee, said, “I recently attended an open mic Immense Artists Collective and I must say what a brilliant platform it was. There was laughter, cheer, and appreciation in every performed act. Like the way it is not easy to get on a stage similarly, it is not easy to organise such a great and successful show. With such supportive organizers you can add a feather to your performance every passing day, it gives you some confidence which can only be experienced.”
Another Comic artist, Himanshu, said, “Such events bring artist from different genres under one roof. This is so amazing, so much fun. I am looking forward to being part of more events organised by the forum.”
Immense Pictures is basically a forum for young artists—to promote artistic expression, cinema, cultural diversity in the arts, and building leadership capital.
Another artist Yash Jain, said, “The 3rd edition of the Open Mic by The Immense Artists Collective couldn’t be expressed in words! There was a colossal of beautiful artists whom I met and witnessed their arts. Every other participant had a different story to tell, a song to sing or to give the entire crowd a belly laugh. I am glad to be a part of the Immense Artists Collective.”
The open mic trend has been catching on big time, especially in metropolitan cities. It is an exciting time for artists in India.
Event organiser Kanishka said, “The idea of Immense Artists Collective as the name suggests is a platform for all artists who come together to appreciate art. In an effort to build a community of artists- storytellers, poets, musicians, singers, and comics we want to create a space that breathes creativity.
Artists who were storytellers, sensational poets soulful musicians, and hilarious stand-up comics made the evening. All can be heard was laughter from every corner of the place.
Deepa said, “Immense Artists Collective is a happy space and home to all artists. We all work in our real life but this is that small corner of the room where you come to relax and spend ‘me time’ with a lot of like-minded people. The theme mics allow us to get fresh content every time from artists and also works as a connection between 15 odd strangers who meet one evening and connect to the idea or theme of the event. We hope to do more mics and keep building our family!”
The event was organised by Kanishka and Deepa, who are professionally trained filmmakers. Worked as journalist in print and digital media, the duo had been organizing such events and encouraging young talents.
