A little-known content channel has been all the rage with teenagers and aspiring writers alike on Instagram. We connected with Sahil Chauhan, Founder, The Tender Tales to know the page’s journey and its future.
“In the start, it was just a place where I could put my thoughts out to the world. I’m not a great writer by any means but slowly, I gathered a loyal following of fans.”
So, how did this self-admitted average writer build a page with 70K+ followers & 5000+ published pieces?
“While the content might not win a literary award, it was something that people could relate to. In a day full of shopping, negativity, and stress, The Tender Tales became a spot where people could relax,” he says.
“One day, I just received a message from a fan who wanted to share their own short story but didn’t want to do so on their own page. That’s when it hit me! There are so many budding writers who want to write but are intimidated by the task.”
What started with a small gesture to help the writer quickly snowballed into an avalanche of stories, from thousands of writers around the globe.
“By giving them the confidence to share, unknowingly, our page also provided them with the motivation to write further. I think that’s the best thing creator can do – to inspire others to create.”
Not stopping there, the page also ventured into vernacular languages too. Today, both the vernacular pages are well known and verified with blue ticks on ‘Helo App’.
“Our country is so rich and full of culture, it would be stupid to restrict it to only one language. A good story can’t be held back by a language; it just makes it more beautiful.”
So, what’s in store for this budding page?
“Video is the next big thing on social media. We’d love to expand our team with more enthusiastic professionals and devote more time to creating content.”
“In the long run, we aim to create a larger community of writers, where collaborations with different people from various fields come in and contribute; learning while they explore their passion. If you have something to say, we’ll make sure you know how to say it. Or in this case, write it.”
